Paulien & Martin’s Second Tour

Paulien & Martin’s Second Tour

We are always delighted to welcome back repeat customers. Paulien & Martin first came to us in 2016 and hired Dakar to tour the South of Ireland. Starting in Wicklow and rotating anti-clockwise around the coast they finished their 2016 in one of our favorite campsites Clifden ecoBeach Camping & Caravanning Park. Here are some photo memories from their 2016 tour (such beautiful images that have made it onto the homepage of our website -thanks Paulien & Martin!) 🙂

It was a great pleasure to welcome Paulien & Martin back in 2017 to complete their circumnavigation of Ireland… this time clockwise from Wicklow around the North coast and back to Galway and Clifden Eco Beach for old times sake! Here are some more beautiful memories, photos and campsite recommendations from their trip:

Dear Sue, these were the campsites we really liked:

Meelmore (Mourne Mountains): simple, grass, campfire allowed, no hook-ups, great hikes from campsite into mountains.

The picture above is at Meelmore campsite,

Sleepy Hollows (Crolly, Donegal): five or six places only (adults only), but around the corner from Leo’s Tavern (owned by the only Clannad brother who can’t sing) with regular gigs, also by Clannad members.

Aughris beach: tiny campsite almost on the beach, grass, few places only, no hook-ups, owned by nice pub

There were more campsites that were quite nice too, but mainly because there were hardly any people (= view, privacy, lots of space), so these sites might be very different in July/Aug.

…and finally there was this secret restaurant on Achill Island, called Ferndale House. Weird place but wonderful food.

Big hug for you and Pat,
Paulien

Thanks Paulien & Martin, we hope you will be back, there is still the breathtaking interior of Ireland to explore, for example Ireland’s inland waterways and the the Shannon Corridor!
